I got so sick of the pop up’s that I got rid of Microsoft. I now run Firefox. And I love it.
I will never go back to Microsoft ever again. Allan.
What’s a brouser?
[tup][tup] Big thumbs up for Firebox! I’ve been running it for a couple of years now. No goin’ back…
Tom
I have Firefox and its sweet. By the way, its not brouser, its browser. =)
I’ve got a PCC car. It’s a Bowser, not a bouser.
I use Firefox, but I’ve kept IE on my computer for websites and games that aren’t compatable with it…
I would like to use Firefox, but it does not render web sites well on my wide screen. For example this forum in IE cover the entire width of my screen. Firefox on the other hand renders the forum in a strip down the middle of the screen occupying only about 1/3rd of the display. I’ve tried all kinds of settings to get it to look better, but with no luck.
Since I use a Mac, my main browser is Safari which is part of the software that comes with OSX. I also have Firefox. There are a couple sites that I can’t get info into the site with Safari and use Firefox on. The look and feel of Firefox for the Mac is almost identical to Safari and I like both. I do have Micro$oft Icky Exploiter on the G5 as well. That one hasn’t been even booted up except for when I ask for help in Office. Then, of course the page opens in IE and that silly little Mac Plus computer icon comes up to “entertain me”. Yuck!
Interesting, both Firefox and Safari (and IE as well) resize easily on my 20" Apple display and can any width I want. Text just wraps around to fill the space. You may have to reset one of the preferences on Firefox to allow proper resizing of the window…???
Any clues where? I have gone thru options and every menu in an attempt to get it to look good. Larger text just makes the fonts bigger, but in the same narrow strip down the middle. I have conluded that Firefox and my Dell Inspiron graphics card just don’t like each other.
FireFox i went to it 2 years ago never going back IE i go sick of the toolbars the pop ups and freakin errors, I hate MS but its immpossible to live without it sadly.
Simon, I think you might be right as I just looked the preferences and there is nothing that lets you change that, at least on the Mac version. The column size on this forum will not resize. When I resize the window I just get blank white space. The window itself can be resized to fill me entire screen though I usualy only use about half of my available screen and have two pages of whatever side by side…
I use IE
Mozilla 1.7 here! I hate IE. Shame some people make websites that only work with it. It’s a dog.
RMax1
I also use Mozilla which is more like Netscape Navigator as Firefox is more like IE. I also use IE for my email and other MS related things. I too got tired of the popups and junk on IE.
i used to use IE on my windows box until one day it just didn’t run . all efforts made to revive it failed . i had an old version of firefox on a cd from a magazine so i loaded that , downloaded the latest version , imported bookmarks and i’ve been using it ever since . sometime after another update to firefox IE started working again , but i’ve gotten used to firefox so i’m sticking with it . also downloaded thunderbird , their email client and that works great too . then i got openoffice . now running as few MS apps on my windows box as possible .
on my mac , firefox , thunderbird and openoffice have completely replaced MS apps . yep i deleted the MS apps . now if i could find an open software replacement for quark express i think i could make a lot of my clients very happy (i do mac tech support)
Are you still getting pop-ups with the latest IE & SP2? I can’t remember the last time one get through.
For the record, I use Firefox for it’s multi-tabbing capabilities and to maintain a familar interface when switching between my Windows and Linux boxes. Every now and again I have to use IE for either work (internal home-brewed apps require it) or for a web site that won’t format properly.

LOL. Thanks.
I voted IE, because that is the only browser I use! I am in the IT field and while it is tempting to switch to another browser, that is just one more thing I would have to support.
Firefox!! When I run internet explorer, it takes a lot longer to go through a forum, namely because it freezes for about 10-30 seconds just so it can manage to open a new window…with firefox, that never happens, and I usually keep it all in tabs! Of course, when downloading from train-sim.com, especially when multiple downloads are needed, I use firefox, internet explorer, netscape (A REALLY bad version!) and opera…
