OFF TOPIC, see if you figure out this riddle

This is driving me nuts, I can’t figure out the answer.

3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30, SO
EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.
A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25,
SO?HE SENT TH E BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS’ ROOM WITH $5.?ON THE WAY THE
BELLBOY COULDN’T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY?BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE
GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR HIMSELF.
THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL
OF?$27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.?WHERE IS THE OTHER
DOLLAR?

Each man paid $9 x 3 = $27- $25 that the man behind the desk has = $2 that the bell boy has!

Ok, The men behind the desk has $25. Bell boy has $2 Men have $3 That totals to thirty. Assuming the men had 30 dollars to begin with, and after they paid they had ZERO. So now they have three, and the bell bot has the other two. The way it is told is what tricks you.

Very simple. The $25 that the manager got is not the true price. The total price for the room to the men is $27, $25 to the manager, and a $2 “tip” for the bellboy. The $3 back makes perfect sense.

There was no “other” dollar!!

But if there was, I’m sure my wife would claim it was hers!!

Right! The reason people get stumped with this one is because they still think that the total for the room was $30.00. With the new price of the room at $25.00 it makes perfect sense:

$25.00 is new room price

$1.00 X 3 men = $3.00

$2.00 tip for bellboy

$30.00 Total

I think we have a winner.
