China.com wanted to give me password information in a email subject line. That one got deleted on sight. I dont know anything about strange emails containing viruses.

But keeping a short list of family and friends that you know, firewall and antivirus updated and running and anti-spyware programs running as well. (And update your systems)

The rest gets sent into the bulk folder and I never see them. Once in a while a ebayer will end up in it and I have to fish it out.

I run everything 24/7 since last summer and have been lucky thus far. I will be purchasing a hardware firewall to harden my defences. It is our responisbility as good internet users to protect ourselves as much as possible.

You know what? The day the net becomes a problem I would toss this computer out the window and visit trains.com from a public library computer. Let the library deal with the busted systems.

I am not sure where our future holds for us on the internet but I would think that we are in a sort of a war. A war against those that seek to steal our identities, destroy our data and interfere with our digital lives.

Which is one reason I don’t even look at e-bay, don’t like to buy online, and don’t have all those credit cards. Don’t even have those supermarket cards. The less about me that’s on somebody’s computer, the happier I am. It also cuts down on the junk mail too!

Funny thing is i never sent in the rest of the thing with my personal information but the grocery discount card still works![:D]

No problems at home. I have a router which provides some hardware protection as well as run a firewall and virus protection 24/7. Any email I recieve that I am not sure of, gets blocked, junked and deleted without opening. We did recieve a virus alert and several viruses did attack where I work.

Virus? What’s that? Oh… it’s one of those windows things…

OS X Tiger… Virus free and unix solid.
