So I just managed to pick up the 25th anniversiary issue and was very impressed, and actually inspired, I’ve wanted to get into live steam for a while and after reading about Mr. Horovitz’s trams on his layout, I’d like to build one like No. 1 just something small, light, and simple to get my feet wet in live steam… so I was wondering if there were plans out the for it, or a list of materials to build one like it? THANKS
Just remember to get your tank pressure tested!

While I don’t know if it’s the exact same as OBR#1, Marc designed a simple tram engine that was intended to be a basic “beginner’s” locomotive kit project. I don’t remember if they were–in fact–complete kits, but I do know there were drawings for them and a list of materials. Send him an e-mail (his address is in the front of the magazine, if not somewhere on this site) and ask him about it. If I recall, the project was designed to be able to be built without any really specialized tools. Later, K
