If anyone has any information regaurding the grain elevators or icing docks in ogden, I am looking to scratch build them in N scale and am looking for dimensions, pics, etc.
Additionally, any information reguarding useful modeling ideas would be appreciated.
What era?
In modern times the ice docks were gone, but the tracks were still there and were used to hold cars of grain and empty flour cars for the elevators.
By the way, technically most of the “elevators” weren’t elevators, they were “mills”. They recieved grain, then ground and shipped flour.

Dave, your very right. Looking for info on the 1950’s mills and ice docks in Ogden Utah. Have a few shots of the mills but not very good perspective and difficult to determine size, etc.
Have a few generic plans for PFE docks, but unsure how the docks in Ogden may have differed.
Also, the original ice house in Ogden burned down and was replaced but I do not have but one photo of the replaced structure.

Well I know that the Sperry Mill and the Pillsbury Mill are still standing. There is also another mill west of the freeway on 24th street which is still served by the Utah Ry. I also know that the main concrete structure of the PFE ice house is still standing but the docks are gone. Might be an excuse to plan a vacation or excursion! You might contact Don and see if he has some detail shots of the mills and Ice house, he might accomodate you even if he dosen’t, it would be worth trying to persuade him as he is an excellent historian!!
