OK, DDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHH! Those poor prisoners need a big hug (oh, did I forget to say the hug should be from either an electric chair or the straps holding them down for the needle…yes I know this sounds very hard nosed, but really…who but the bleeding heart liberals care that much about this scum)…WOW, CAN HARDLY WAIT TO HEAR THE BACKLASH ON THIS NON-TRAINS ISSUE AND MY COMMENTS!
but it is a trains issue - goes to the mind-set that is trying to do away with train whistles at crossings and the ones that think trains are all at fault for people dying…
This news about prison guards explains the story about the three 12 year old boys who burned down the station in Strathroy ,Ontario. They were released into the custody of their parents and will likely face probation. How is this going to deter them,or other youth from doing something similer in the future. This judge deserves a big DUH!
I used to wear a kelver helmet to prevent hurting myself when I used a hammer. My wife made me stop wearing it. It was giving my young daughter a complex.
My wife has been doing that too…encouraging me to use power tools with no gloves, glasses or shoes on…sometimes she sprays me with the hose when I’m using them too…hmmmmm
Just in case a French man From Quebec City steals a wheel of Stinky cheese, and the owner of the store/house goes on a mudering rampage, and decides to reinact the movie “The Quebec Butter-Knife masacre”
Oh yeah Dan, we got the crime up here eh. [B)]
See, we used to just put the violent offenders on a little chunk of pack ice and let 'em float away. [xx(] If they didn’t drown or freeze to death, the polar bears and wolves usually took care of 'em. Great deterrent . [:D]
But with global warming and all, the ice is gettin harder to find and those darn tree hugger types started complainin’ about the poor diet the wildlife was gettin eating all of those criminals [:(] (it seems criminals often have higher than normal cholesterol levels, and this was causing an increase in heart disease and Lipitor prescriptions in polar bears, and with our health care system the way it is things just couldn’t go on that way).
Soooo, we had to start building jails, and guard towers and so on. We even got some of them SuperMax prisions for the real nasties. [}:)]
Well, this reminds me of a story I heard a while ago that has to do with both trains and prisons. In an issue of the Railway Magazine from a few months ago, there was a story about a railway line and yard that was going to be reopened after being closed for something like 20 years. Part of this line happens to go past a prison that houses some of the most dangerous murderers and terrorists in Britain. Officials from the prison were very upset about this because the sound of the trains might disturb the prisoners’ sleep. Get real people! Never mind the fact that there’s a large wall around the prison which would probably block out a lot of noise anyway. In the article it said that prison officials said that some things that me seem like nothing to us can be very disturbing for people with unstable minds such as the prisoners’ and could cause disturbances such as riots amoungst the prisoners. Well, that’s why you have guards people. Perhaps they don’t have guards in this prison and have to just have to hope for the best.
As far as Canadian prisons go, today on the news it talked about how the prison in Regina, Saskatchewan is the worst prison in Western Canada. It was built in 1913 and apparently because it’s age, it is possible for prisoners to break through the walls. They’ve even had some escapes this way. That’s not a comforting thought considering that I live quite close to Regina and go there often.
You think you got problems, here in Kingston, Ontario , we have 7 Federal prisons within the city limits! And to keep in a railway theme , we have only 1 railroad. (CN)
I’m still in favor off packing them up and sending them off to a penal colony. Something like Midway or Wake Island in the middle of the Pacific or even Manhattan (Escape from New York) … Go ahead…try and escape. Twenty years …if you make, will make you quite happy to abide by the laws of the land.
