OH so sorry Bambi

Poor Bambi, just didn’t see the train in time.

Have a good week, must go do some more wiring, did get to run some trains last night, made me happy. Mike

Well, it’s realistic, but a bit morbid.

Now you need to pick the loco that “did” this and paint it accordingly.[}:)]

looks great but I think your blood is a little bright. Other then that It is aswsome. I think I will have to put one on my layout some where when I get that far. Baker

To quote Larry the Cable Guy, “I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there!”

Twisted, but funny!!

If its not those damn deer hunters its those bloody trains! I can’t wait for Monday and the opening of deer season, lol!!!

Hopefully the other one learns from the others mistake,

Must have been one of those “Bloody Nose” Amtraks!

Well yesterday was opening day for deer season I hope the Engineer had a Valid permit

Hey it is already in full swing down here. I tagged a nice 8 point buck with a 17.5" inside antler spead.

A VERY nice buck for my area.

Not a hunter myself, but you folks should feel lucky they allow marksmen to take out those long-legged rodents. In our town, there’s no season at all. As a result, the only natural enemy of the deer is the SUV, since the the rail lines have all sprouted asphalt and now the only rolling stock is bikes, rollerblades and baby strollers.

It only took one season of attempted gardening to turn my wife’s opinion of deer in the back yard from “Oh, how beautiful” to “Wouldn’t that taste good.” Hopefully, there was enough left of that rail-road-kill deer so that somebody got a bit of venison.

I don’t know, but I think that meat is going to be a bit bruised…[;)]

Now if I could just get the RR to run a spur through my yard my problems would be solved. This year Bambi, his father, mother and aunts came out of the woods behind my house and cleaned out completely my peaches, apples, cherries, plums, blackberries, raspberries and tomatoes. Last year they dined on my small stand of silver queen corn.

We used to have a coyote here that aleviated the situation but I haven’t seen him for a while. A fast moving freight loco seems to be the right way to go.

More like…tenderized.

looks good, but I got to think if a long train going hit you, it would had been on the tracks not beside the tracks…

you would have all those train cars going right over you… if it were 15 cars it be over 60 wheels passing by…

just my thought.

Depends on the angle at which it was hit. If it was head-on, then yes it would be dragged. If at an angle the it would be thrown to the side. I’m a firefighter and first responder, I’ve seen more than my share of train related accidents and that’s how it happens.

Jeffery is correct. As a former Fire Chief I can attest to it. WARNING! Morbid alert!!!
BTW blood doesn’t stay bright red for very long. It turns more brownish. Possibly the digital camera overstated the red. Mine likes to do that. Alternately it might be a fresh kill. If so you should add some hair to the fore end of the engine. In any case it’s a very clever idea but a waste of good meat. I wonder if there’s anything left of the tenderloins? [dinner]

In Alaska, the railroad mainline (which is obviously kept clear of snow) is frequently used by moose as a convienient pathway. When train meets moose, the moose looses! In fact this is such a common occurance that one of the names suggested for the Anchorage to Fairbanks passenger run was “The Moose Gooser!”

I see many deer getting hit where I live here in Wake Forest, NC. But more from automobile traffic than trains. And typically there is not that much blood, so you might want to tone down the red a bit. It is tragic to see, but on our way to the train show this weekend we counted over 6 road kills that had been hit by oncoming traffic, including deer, beaver, racoons, rabbits, and snakes. The wildlife here around Falls Lake and Umstead Park is amazing.

[:P]Kinda sick, but thats the way it is sometimes! What you need now are some little buzzards around it or maybe a couple cuyote’s! One of the roads I drive down dailey is a real road-kill alley for deer , possums, raccoons, etc., and occasionally we hear of a deer or two getting whacked along one of the major rail lines here around Monticello, Ind… During my AF years, we had a deer-strike on one of our jet trainers! What a mess! The jet had hit the deer just as it touched down for landing. Needless to say it was a nightmare just trying to clean off the blood and guts! Jet 1, deer 0!
