I ask for a modeler on the ‘other’ forum who is building a layout of that sort. he is looking for old/archival pix of refueling setups for steamers. Can anyone point me to a website that will show him what to create?
Thanks for all replies.

I can’t give you a web site but you shouldn’t need one. It would be much simpler than a coal facility. A tank with a spur and unloading gear(I think Walthers has an oil distributor facility as an industry which would probably work) and a standpipe, similar to the kind used for water (I believe Tichy has both the water and oil types) The tanks for both needn’t be immediately adjacent to the stand pipes. They could even be "off scene "(not modeled).
Look in the Santa Fe’s Standard Plans or PRR’s…Just remember you needed heat to get that Bunker C vicous enough to flow.

I assume that you mean viscous, otherwise, poking the Bunker C with a stick might work.
Hi guys and thanks. I’m the poor lost soul in question. There has so much been written about coaling facilities and so little about oil fueling facilities.
My current plan is to use a tank from a tanker on a scratch-built platform along with a stand pipe. But I’ve not found great pictures to go from. I’m still living off the 04 Walther’s so I’ll have to get the new one and check it out.
