OK O gaugers, conductor is looking at his watch. Time for the train to pull out.

You guys are being sleepy heads this AM. Coffee is ready in the caboose. Rain is gone here and garden growing [maybe more golden eggs for Jim]. Off to Savannah BPS around noon for the show. Called the local train store. Got recording. Widow lady tha truns it must be off to York. Thought I’d look for some more goodies. Save that money until she gets back. All have a great day down the tracks and God bless all.

Good Morning Chief,
It’s a sunny start in NE Ohio. 38 deg but our weather man says it going up to 58 to day. But yesterday morning he said rain and we had a very nice sunny day. To bad I missed most of it because of work.

Good luck checking out train stores on your trip.

Here at Roger’s Corners, Ohio the coffee is brewing and I’m off to work. Tomorrow I will be traveling and may be able to bring back some great train photos.

Chief, I am still trying to see if I can post the show I sent you to the web without knocking down the power grid in Ohio and other states. I assume everyone has figured out that when they plug in their train’s transformer, the power somehow goes through Ohio.

Hey Buckeye and Spankybird, just sent you emails. Tom, good to chat with you last night. Good info. Wife was surprised. Usually it is someone from Texas wanting to talk fishing. Now she does not fish but she is getting into the toy trains thing. She wants to paint scenery on the walls for “long ways off” background and then do the layout scenery. Maybe we have found something we love to do together [well something else but can’t be said here [:D]].

Chief [got you all laughing on that one] Eagles

Mornin Chief, with today being my day off I’ve a chance to greet all this morning. Been up since 6, read the paper, helped get the granddaughters out of the house, did some cooking and now look forward to working on a church I’m scratch builing for the layout.

I couldn’t agree more with your, and others’ comments, CTT vs OGR. If you don’t like it -move. It seems there are a few individuals that enjoy stirring up controversy on both forums.

Well the wife just left for work, time to work on the trains.

Roger, glad to have you on the “train” this AM. You all will have to get it out of the yard tomorrow thorugh Monday as I’m out of town. That is unless the hotel has a computer. Got to get the JD out and mow when the grass gets dry and then hit the road. They have a annual parade that starts the kid’s baseball season this Saturday. I live on main street so the grass needs mowing to keep wife happy. You remember Andy Griffith and the Mayberry parade? About the same here except all the ball teams march in it in uniforms. Enjoy the day and give us a picture of that church when you finish. I love “train” pictures.

Good Morning Guys. Frank, I think this is a great idea, but I’d like to offer this suggestion. Instead of posting a new topic each day, just post one, and keep using it.
This way we won’t bury all of the other topics. It should always stay on the first page, and if it slips, just post to it and bump it up. The first post of a new day could be done in a color, or just note the day of the week, as time and dates are on every post anyway.

Wyh not call it something like “The coffee pot is always on”, then it will become this huge gazillion page topic, like MR’s version of the never ending story. The major difference being we will all say more than three words.[swg]

Very good Elliot. By-the-way, was someone going to see if we could get folders to put topics in? With the latest growth, we might need to go that way. Later man. [:D]

Good morning Chief and all. Had a nice ride in on the VRE train today. Elliot has a nice suggestion about keeping the pot on. I’ll drop in now and then too. Esp. when OGR starts shutting out folks who don’t pay.

There was a group on OGR who moved to Model Train Journal called “Hobo Jungle”.

These folks posted poetry and all sorts of stuff that Hobos would do within reason and they chalked up tens of thousands of replies.

Maybe a catchy title like the coffee pot is on or something about a bindle stick or having to do with hobo lore.

Whatya say folks?

Chief,

I just remembered. I’ve gotta do my taxes today!

Just curious if my toy train layout qualifies for some sort of deduction like home improvement, or perhaps under medical expenses for stress reduction, or since my passengers ride for free, maybe some type of charity?

dave vergun

Yea David, don’t we all wish. [8D] Don’t think George W plays with trains. [:D]

Frank, I’ve been watching the forum with the aditional folder in mind. I’m somewhat torn. I’m not sure the best way to use it if we got one.

Yesterday Garden Railways started one, but so far it has seen litle activity.

MR has 4, and with all of the traffic you would think that those guys would spread out more, but instead, 3 weeks ago they decided to argue about where to post prototype related questions, when they have a folder specificly for that, which is almost never used. It seems too inconvenient, and all of that stuff gets dumped into general.

Perhaps the problem is that the people who write responses don’t like to search for questions. Then nobody wants their question in a low traffic area, and the folder goes silent.

This brings us back to our situation. Where and how do we draw a line, and what will this place look like if we do??? I don’t know. I’m listening.[swg]

While we ponder, lets try to consreve, and possibly avoid the decision all together. We really won’t be able to fully understand the situation until after the June OGR deadline anyway. We saw a ru***o sign up and get aquainted, but haven’t seen the full effect yet.
