I finally deisgned a layout that works !!! I used Ian Rice’s " linked diorama concept" and changed it around to meet my needs. I also added a bridge section accross the door to give me continuse run. I will probably wait for construction at least until the OKC trainshow in a couple months when I can get alot of stuff cheap. I would like to thank all ya’ll who heped me out with my trackplanning problems, I could not have done it without you. I will post photos as soon as possible. Thanks !

Glad to hear it. [:D]
I look forward to the pics and especially the bridge section. I bet other people are interested in how you do the door if you are still going to do it. The “Bridge” thread seems to be a hit right now. There are some good ideas being tossed about in it.
Keep us posted. [;)]
Best of Luck with it too. [:)]
Train nut: Can’t wait for the pictures and the ‘bridge’. Especially the ‘bridge.’ I’m going to have to eventually put one in to lead to a holding yard along the other side of the garage, and I’m anxious to see what you’ve done. Good show–carry on! CARPE DIEM!
you have me intrigued I’ll be sitting on my hands waiting for the pics. From this post iti sounds like you decided on an around the wall. Am I corrrect?
Andrew
Glad you finally got it figured out OTN, can’t wait to see the pics once you get it built.

I say that warrents a drink. Whats your fancy?

The bridge section will not be realy a model bridge. it will be a removable section with one track on it. Student of Big Sky Blue, Since I’m only 13, I think Dr. Pepper or Vanilla Coke.[:D]

An excellent choice and a very adult one too. [;)]
We are all proud of you. [:)]
Keep up the good morals. [^]
If you can, hang out around the local dump and pick up your lumber there, or scavenge on the streets before garbage day. A lot of people will throw out 1X4s and 2X4 that are suitable for layout construction. You can save a bunch of loot that way. I did.
Thanks for the suggestion, jay_c
Your comment about waiting for the next train show to get supplies cheap worries me. This attitude can spell the end of the local hobby shop. The shop must cover its overhead and may not be able to compete on price alone. However, most hobby shops will offer advice like this directly person to person once you get to know the proprietor and staff. In our impersonal world of mail order and computers, someone to talk to locally becomes all so much more important. Don’t cut them out of your layout purchase plans.
I don’t plan to get everything from the show. I will probably get a cpuple locos from my local hobby shop. They participate in the show also. i just like having the wide varitey of stuff. The show is only once a year. wistle stop ( the local train store ) is the only realy good train store in Oklahoma City, so they get alot of buisness. I go to them alot and they are always helpful and give good deals. I’m not abandoning them yet.
