Oklahoma-Rio Grande

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announces a $5.6 million grant to plan a passenger rail line from Oklahoma City to the Rio Grande (American Statesman).

With past discussion focused on the Texas Triangle, I was happy to see a link acknowledging corridor passenger traffic potential south of San Antonio to Corpus Christi and Harlingen-McAllen. As I suspected, Laredo appears to be a much smaller market.

Curiously, Houston was not included in the scope of study.
