Trying to clear up confusion and conflicting dates. When Katy started the OKT line from St.Joe-Herington (and southward to DFW)May 29, 1980 and ending its RI lease at the end of 1981, the 80 miles from Topeka-Herington was included in the Cotton Belt obtaining that track when it bought the KC-Tucumcari route Oct 20, 1980 (as reported by Trains).
Question is when SSW acquired the track, did Katy bow out at that time, or was this jointly operated Topeka-Herington until the end of '81? Did OKT operate from St.Joe only for the 1980 wheat harvest?
