Old Delaware and Hudson

On a trip out to New England and I paralleled the Binghamton - Colonie ex D&H line. Is that still CP line? Is NS using that for their Boston/New England intermodals? I saw two trains with considerable JBHunt stacked containers.

What is the ex EL line across the Southern Tier used for? Didnt see a train all day on that line.

Also, is there a passenger car factory in or near Bath, NY?

Backwards: Bomberdier has a facility at Katona, NY where they are rebuilding New Jersey Transit Bi Level cars NJT management left in low lying yards and were flooded by Storm Sandy…FYI there are several other rail car facilities in the area at Hornell, Dansville, and Elmira (new Amtrak Viewliners). You ask about the ex EL line across the Southern Tier. If you mean you followed the line east from Jamestown, then you are talking the Western NY Ry from there to Hornell and NS from Hornell to Binghamton. WNY also operates the former PRR line north and south at Olean and the Lakeville, Avon, and Livonia and is a treasure trove of Alcos. Their schedules are spotty but the former Erie Main from Buffalo to Hornell to Binghamton is quite active with NS local and through trains to Binghamton where they may go up CP’s former D&H to Mechanicsville or east to Harrisburg on CP’s former D&H nee DL&W out of Binghamton. NS does use CP’s D&H to access Pan American, nee Gulford, nee B&M-MEC. Some NS intermodal from the south and west will aslo go to Montreal. I am not 100% sure of all I’ve said here, but it is a general outline for sure.
