Old Floquil Dio-Sol Formula?

I have heard that the old Dio-Sol formula (pre-Testor’s) was primarily xylene and toluene. Can anybody verify the proportions, and what else may have been included? (And yes, I know all about hazards, and I do not plan on drinking or “huffing” it!). Been around the stuff for decades, and know how to handle it.

Anyhow, any help out there?

Thanks!

I am not sure what the ‘formula’ is, but I have been using generic ‘lacquer thinner’ from Target/Walmat/Menards for years with solvent based Floquil paints.

Some years ago I had Dio-sol analysed by a chemist friend. He told me the Dio-sol was 94% Xylol and 6% Sinthetic Reducer. For clean up of the airbrush I use just plain old paint store lacquer thinner. Dio-sol is used for thinning the paint only.

Xylol is also known as xylene, it is flammable, and soluble in many organic solvents including acetone.
