old man rules

Rules 1:This is my railroad. Rule 2: I make the rules Rule 3: Illuminating Discussion of Prototype History, Equipment , and Operating Practices is always Welcome , But in the Event of Visitor Perceived Anachronisms, Detail Discrepancies or Operating Errors, Consult Rules 1 & 2

Them’s my rules, too! Couldn’t have stated it better.

I try to hold close to some sense of reality and possibility but don’t nit-pik too much or I’ll sour on ya’. I get to do this because for most folks, I’m just an old man and on my road, just “Th’ Man”.

Hi.

I attempt to make my railroad as realistic in appearance as possible. However, I do not set the scene in a particular year, in the month of, on the day and hour on a particular railroad line. This for me is too confining. My main rule is have fun and have as few rules as possible. My railroad helps me escape the real world and all its rules.

All the best.

1954, on the Northern Pacific in western Montana. I hold to equipment that was in use at that time by that railroad. The actual place, is totally ficticious, as I had scenes in my head from when I was a young kid that I wanted to see on my model railroad. Even knowing what I know now, after 25 years of building this layout, I would not model real scenes on the N.P. as I don’t feel they would have been dramatic enough for what I want to model, especially with the selective compression that would be necessary.

All this really goes without say, so why say it again… and again … and again, …

Don’t we see this in siggies

Is this thread supposed to be renewed every month, like The Diner and Show Me? Just asking.

I’m sure your list is a real hit in person…

Maybe the text doesn’t play it out so well…?

Seems like good rules to me.

Ace24:

I totally agree!

I do think that there should be another rule at least in regard to these forums. That’s the rule that Bambie’s mom said!

That would stop a lot of newcomers from being turned off by negative comments. So what if the topic has come up multiple times before. This forum is as much for newbies as it is for those with some time under their belts. If you don’t like the thread move on, but please lets be careful about turning newcomers off the forum.

Rule #14: Do NOT create a new thread that’s essentially identical to one that’s already been created recently…

While I model by my rules I don’t use “Its my layout” as a cop out for everything and that too goes.I stay within era and believability.

Call it a rookie mistake…

“Groundhog Day” on the forum. [(-D]

I’m sure that he already was made quite well aware of the repeating repeats…or was it…aaawwwwww…never mind…

This one will be locked.[:)]
