Do you mean “old Model Railroader” magazines?
What do you want to do, sell them?
If so, there isn’t much interest in older magazines price wise. Mailing costs will usually be fairly high too.
Explain more what you want to do and maybe someone can offer some assistance.
You will probably have a hard time giving them away unless you can do so locally. As Bob has said the shipping charges are an issue. I used to see piles of old ones at the LHS being sold for a fraction of the original cover price. I never see this anymore so I have wonder how much of a market for older magazines exists. Occasionally you see some at a train show and sometimes they are passing them out to folks for free.

Yes, I’m sorry. I left out the Model…just a mistake. I obtained some in binders dating from 1964 - 1972. I googled them and found some old single mags for sale and before I hang on to them I was trying to find out if there would be any interest in them to bother to advertise them. If so, I was wondering what would be the best web site to do so. The ones I saw were listed on Yahoo classifieds. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you both. This is not something I have an interest in so I don’t want to keep them, but you never know about what people collect these days so I thought I’d ask those iterested in Model Railroads.
Thanks again,

My closest LHS sells old ones for $3-$4. Ten years old![:O]
Last time this came up someone said the Post Office would ship 200 lbs. for $8.95. I’d really like to see that.
Give them to a hobby shop or a library or Good Will.
There were several recent threads on this, I did follow up on one via the thread and email and the owner of those magazines never followed through with information specific to method of shipping and specific charges for that./
Your best bet is to scan them into your computer and toss the paper mags or donate them to a local hobby shop. Mine recieves old magazines from time to time and I get to take em home for free if I see them.
My sense from swap meets is that isolated issues of old MRs do not sell for much – anywhere from 25 cents to a dollar an issue – but entire volumes, particularly bound volumes or bound in the familiar blue binders of individual issues, sell for between $4 and $10 a year.
