Hi Jim. I understand mixed emotions, but from what I have read, it seems like he has come a long, long way. He was very forthright and honest in those talks and for that he deserves much credit. That takes guts. I wish he would post again.

Agreed, he does deserve credit for trying to set things straight, but unfortunately he can never give life back to those who died in the crash and he will have to live with that for the rest of his life, BUT I will give him much credit for his efforts since then.

I have mixed emotions on how I feel personally about Mr. Gates and I am a bit amazed at his posting on such a forum under his real name and speaking about such things publicly. If his efforts are aimed at some sort of amends, I must give him credit.

I agree with you. I’m going to have to give him a lot of credit also. I too hope he continues to post on this forum. There aren’t too many people who would admit to being at fault like he has. I have much respect for him.

Thanks Dale. You are right. I had not read these posts. That must be a terrible time of year for Rick Gates, which makes me respect him even more. This will be with him forever, so he needs to be commended for his honesty and willingness to talk even if as he says it is only once in a while.

Hi AntonioFP45…I am back. Gunpowder did make a huge impact on the industry, and aas I remember, Ricky Gates mentioned that on the forums a few years ago. I hope people have not forgotten, and from what I have seen out there, they have not. Keep talking to those young people until they understand.

I hope that all of us here that are adults continue to talk to kids as well. I’ve found out that often when we don’t think they’re listening…they are. But they also look at us to see if we practice what we speak or if we’re just blowing hot air.

I hope that Ricky continues on the positive road in reaching out to people.
