Does anyone know if there are any pictures of the gone St.Croix bridge north of Stillwater, Mn but south of the current “High Bridge”? If you google earth Stillwater, Mn and follow the river north-east you can still see the bridge supports going across the river.
Boyd,
Go to the Minnesota Historical Society web pages. This link has a picture of the original bridge:
Cruise around the site just using ‘soo line’ for your search in the photo data base area. There are lots of photos of both the old bridge, and the new bridge under construction.

ere is a nice set of photos of building the current bridge as well as some views of the original bridge, which was just a mile or so to the south of the new bridge:
The original bridge was fairly spectacular in its own right. The last time I was there, all t
The 2nd link shows a lot of interesting pictures. I wonder when the old bridge was built and how long until they took down the old bridge after the new one was installed. On google earth you can still see the basic route of the old bridge and its grade on both sides of the river. I have only been about 1/2 mile north of the lift bridge on the St.Croix and that was 15 years ago. So I have never been up next to the current bridge. The new river rules are that boats don’t pass under that bridge to spread any of the Eurasian Milfoil or other invasive species. On the Minnesota side there are no parking signs on every road within at least a mile of the high bridge.
