back In the 70’s Also watched A show on tv About B&O And CHESSIE SYSTEMS
steam loco # 614 And how A fire In Cumberland Ma’s round house almost took the life Of steam # 2101 loco & tender were both badly burned but restored
and re# FREEDOM train loco # 1 they showed a very good footage of two B&O SD40’s 1 In B&O blue And the other in Chessie colors pulling #614
down 17 mile and sandpatch for braking purpose And sanding the rails
but I would love to see some pictures of C&O And B&O In there Native colors
that would be A sight to see they also showed some footage of The longest bridge In M.a. (now abandoned) on the WM rwy And some WM locos In
there native paint This was back in the mid to late 70’s before CSXT
back when MP was bigger than UP when SP ruled the west
ATSF ruled the midwest BN ruled The north west and CHESSIE ruled the east
and SBD , SCL , ICG , L&N , EL , PC, NW , SOU and afew others were still there own Not to mention WP , MP (which at 1 time were bigger than UP) MKT , SSW-SP & D&RGW were all their own companys.

…Slic: The WM RR ROW now is for the most part a bike and walking trail through southern Pennsylvania and heading towards Cumberland, Md. I have good photos of one of WM’s large viaducts near Meyersdale, Pa. [called the Salisbury viaduct], It is 1200 to 1500 ft long and now supports the trail with a great cement floor and steel mesh side rails. If I ever learn how to deposit photos on here I’ll post some of it.

2101 was at B&O museum when I was there (before the collapse), but wasn’t very pretty.

AFT #1, seen it at the B&O (in the parking lot) have photos of it, its sitting there rusting, and no-one seems to care (or at least any more than say the GG1 that crashed into Union station in the '50s and was rebuilt. Last I heard of #614, it had been restored, and was auctioned off in eather '99 or '01 by D.F. Barnhart & Associates. Got some photos of her too.
Another sad sight is the B&O’s President Washington (don’t remember the number).
