Don - Contact the Historic Rail company (www.HistoricRail.com). Their autumn 2005 catalog lists all 5 seasons of Tracks Ahead as available (1990-2002) in two-volumes per, sets on DVD (they used to offer it on video as well…you could check). Their website is supposed to list each volume’s content. I’ve dealt with them in the past and have been please with the service.

What ever happened to that show? It use to be on PBS all the time and now nothing.
The last issued shows of the series were offered in 2002, although I’ve heard that a new group of shows might be in the works.
Out my way (eastern NY) it looks as if PBS felt the show might have been too diverse in content. Tracks Ahead hasn’t been run locally since 2002 and has been replaced with totally prototype RR shows like Great Railway Journeys and such. Too bad.

Your question about what happened to Tracks Ahead, it’s still being shown on various PBS stations. Here in San Jose, CA we can get it on KCSM TV on Wed nights at 7:00 PM. If you go to MPTV.org and select Tracks Ahead - Stations. it shows the stations in your state that should still be broadcasting TA. Check the stations and see if TA is still listed.
Hope this helps.
