Old Trolley lines.

Does anyone know anything about, or a good place to get some information about the trolleys that once ran through Caldwell, Idaho? I have had no luck on any search engines, or the Nampa Museum. My mother said that you could see the tracks down in Trolley Square, which sits very near the UP main in Caldwell, when she was little. Middleton also has a building called the Trolley Station. Any info would be appreciated.

I would suggest the Idaho State History Museum in Boise. One historian the wrote about the history of railroading in Idaho was Merrill D. Beale, a prof at Idaho State University in Pocatello. Naturally much of his writings dealt with the Oregon Short Line, but he also wrote about the Idaho Northern that built through Middleton.

I moved to the Caldwell area in 1954 but the trolleys were long gone by them. I don’t think the Middleton building has anything to do with the Caldwell trolleys - but I may be mistaken. I do not remember a Trolley Station building in Middleton in the late 50’s - early 60’s when I lived near there.

Good luck - drop me an email if you find something.
