It seems I’ve run into a small problem.I left an engine on the track overnight, and my cat decided to play. The poor little engine didn’t stand a chance.Luckily the only damage was a broken wheel. Now comes the problem,I called atlas and they say parts are no longer available.I’ve tried two shows so far and cant find a similar model, it’s about 25 yrs old and was made in Austria.Does anyone have an idea where I can get a new or used truck to make the repair, or does anyone have a dead engine they want to sell? Thanks for any and all responses
Jim
Jim you might try this site: HOYARDSALE get yourself a user name, discribe what your looking for …type of engine. etc, be sure to sign your name on your listing or your listing will be rejected until you add your name. The only down side you will get about 30 emails aday from people selling stuff or looking to buy, but most have good prices, Bud
You can go into your group settings and change them so you only get 1 Email a day listing everything posted that day instead of individual mails for each item. I think it’s called “log” or “journal” or something like that.
A picture of the broken loco would help. Some companies make after market wheels and axles for locos.
If it’s a plastic wheel with traction tires your probably out of luck though. (don’t know much about old Atlas stuff)
WHAT THE (EXPLETIVE DELETED) IS IT???
There are modelers out there with 25 year old Atlas engines–whether HO-Scale or N-Scale really does not matter–who may have an identical locomotive which, for one reason or another, is no longer operational and who would be most happy to cannibalize theirs to help you get yours running!
Just got back from the wkend and saw I forgot to mention what broke… It’s an atlas GP-30 in N scale.
If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jim
