grate vid cant wait to see the rest of them
Styrene looks like a good material for curved backdrops. How expensive is styrene compared to the “traditional” hard board material often used for back drops?
I can’t find a plastic deler in my area so how can I do this
Tatum,
if you don’t have a plastics dealer that is close enough to drive to, contact any you can find and see what it will take for them to ship it to you. As shown in the video, after we had them cut the 4 x 8 sheet for us into 2 x 8 foot strips, it rolls up very compact, so it should be shippable.
Good luck!
David
To avoid cracks propagating from the sharp corners in the openings in styrene, I try and include a small radius (1/8 inch or larger) instead of a 90 degree corner. This is especially important where the styrene is curved or where flexing is possible, such as in portable sections. Make the corner radii as large as feasible in your design.
Dave Popp does a great job with the videos. Good explanation with excellent tips.
