I am currently a senior in high school and will be attending Creighton next year. If there are is a good LHS for any clubs around please post below. I am returning to campus this Friday and would like to get some supplies because the nearest hobby shop is 2.5 hours away. Thanks to all.
There are two excellent hobby shops nearby. House of Trains is up on Maple in downtown Omaha, and then there’s Train Time in Papillion/La Vista. Neither are more than 30 minutes from Creighton even on a bad traffic day. I’d invite you over to run on the N scale Juniata Division, but I’m moving to Florida in two weeks.
There is also an HO only shop with some odd hours at about 85th and F, Scale Rail. There are two Hobbytowns, on on the north side and one on the south side, about a block away from Train Time.
Since I live on the north side of town I do a lot of business with House of Trains.
There is also rumored to be a new hobby shop opening in Council Bluffs.
The Western Heritage Div. of the NMRA is active and has monthly meetings.
There is a club in the old CRIP depot in Council Bluffs.
The Omaha Area has an active round robin group of home layouts that hold operating sessions.
Thank you for all your help. It is good to hear the local’s view of things.
