Being up here in lovely interior alaska, there not many hobby shops that are worth a darn, can anyone help me out with some reasonably priced on-line websites that i can get my railroading supplies from?
Tex I know the feeling I am down in the FLorida Keys 125 miles of nothing but bridges and water. Nearest HS is in Miami 125 miles away. I have had great success with www.cchobbies.com. I have ordered from him at least five times and even when I order later friday night or sat morn he has my stuff in the mail by close of business saturday and an email to me. The fastest online vender I have ever seen. Fast, curtious and accurate. Another site I have had great dealings with is www.1stplacehobbies.com very large selection of Rolling stock as well as Loco’s and anything else you want. I sometimes spend an hour just cruising his site looking at the differant items. www.loystoys.com is also excellant. They not only sell great stuff but have a very helpful, educational website mainly geared at DCC wiring, decoder installs etc. Even if you are DC they have loads of info just for the reading. There are a bunch more I use as a matter of fact my bookmark page for trains is over 100 entries now.
Good luck you are surrounded with snow (in the winter I’m sure) and I’m surrounded by water but it gives me more time to “Work on the Railroad”

Here’s a link to a recent thread that discussed this very topic. It should give you some good choices. If I recall correctly, you’re in N scale. Several of the vendors listed in the other thread are specifically N scale, including 4Nscale.com, blwnscale.com, wig-wag-trains.com, and featherrivertrains.com. The others probably carry N scale as well as the other scales.

Trainworld has always been good to me. Their website isn’t much. I deal with them on the phone.
If you have a MR magazine, most of the advertisers have website addresses listed right in their adds. I find something new almost every month.
