On the LION

At Smith-9th Street in Brooklyn

Any resemblance to the station in Brooklyn is fully intentional. [(-D]

I know the sign see it fom the BQE

Interesting! We have a store in a town called Hackensack near here, called “Kensack Carpet”! Their sign isn’t quite that big, though.

Eh? Do you remember when they actually made Kentiles there?

That whole block is so weird. The Kentile sign is on top of what used to be a theater, the fly loft being just in front of that sign. Obviously there used to be a street in front of that theater which would have extended to the sea wall on this side of the canal. Clearly the Kentile people used barges to bring stuff in.

People just kept on building and extending their buildings until the whole four square block parcel became one rather disjointed building. I wonder if the whole thing was used to manufacture the tiles of if some of those additions are later. I have walked around the south and east sides of that building taking pictures of it, but it (other than the sign) will not be featured on my layout.

I stood on the platform, and made several shots of the skyline, and then stitched them together to make the backdrop for that station.
