Any comments on Bachmans ON3 equipment? I generally model HO and some O. Saw some On3 and it looked good and ran good ( on a test track) . I would eventually like to incorporate it in a O gauge layout. Who has tried it and what was your experience?.. Rich
Bachmann’s equipment is On30 not On3. It represents 30 inch gauge in O scale and runs on HO track. You can model either the two footers of Maine, the three footers of the West, logging lines, industrial lines, or a combination of all of them. I used to model in On3 but the cost of locomotives was (and still is) astronomical. When Bachmann introduced its line of narrow gauge equipment, I felt it was the best thing that ever happened in the hobby of Model Railroading! I immediately switched over to On30. The Bachmann locos run well, look great, and are very affordable. On30 offers the best of both worlds; the heft and detailing of O scale and the convenience and economy of HO.
