On30 shay can do a 12 inch radius curve

I tried out my new On30 Bachman shay. I measure my radii from the inner rail and not from the center as most do.
Anyhow, the boxcar and caboose are HO though. I will have to use slightly longer couplers for On30 cars because they are wider. Other than that everything went very very well.
It derailed on a 10 inch [inner rail radius] curve though.

Sorry, I ain’t buyin it . It MIGHT take less than a 15" radius turning left, but it AIN’T happenin going to the right. The driveshafts bind up. Hell, going to the left, I think they would fall out at much less than 15". I think you’re measuring wrong.

I have run my shay through a factory Atlas code 100 15" radius curve both ways with no problems so the 12" curve seems feasable.

Why do you have to insult somebody? I had the guts enough to come out and disagree with you openly and honestly, and that’s what I get? Weird people? Is it at least possible for your Shay to negotiate a sharper radius than mine? Could be. I’m sure they all don’t run the same. All I said was I THINK you are measuring wrong. I didn’t insult you. I THINK means MAYBE. You may NOT be measuring wrong. Dam, I thought I was being pretty open minded. At least I know what kinda folks I’m dealing with now.

As for insulting you. Try better that I was defending myself from your false accusations. I said I had proof and even offered you and everyone else to look at it.
However instead of that you make lame silly accusations based on nothing what so ever.
Sorry but my position stands. You obviosly did NOT look at the facts, you instead made false assumptions.
As for whether or not your shay can do or not do 12 inches you did not say originally. had you done so maybe it would have been better to then compare shays, year made etc.
But instead you choose to attack my credibility, defame my intention and generally make an a@@ of yourself.

I liked the fact that you took some time and illustrated on your website how it is possible. And it is good info and if I were thinking of doing such a tight radius I would test it just you have.

Seriously, from a fellow Christain, you need to get a thicker skin and not get offended so easy. Here is the great tip from a Pastor, “if you want to know how a Christain is supposed to act, ask a non-believer and they’ll tell you.”
Maybe you should appologize to BigRedneckRob and ask him for forgiveness.
It would be real difficult to intrduce someone to Christ when you don’t walk the talk.

That’s true, Jesus did say that. He was referring however, to those who could not be reached by his word. You however, twist his words into an insult towards another person. That’s blastphemy. Remember, he also said “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” You’ve got a lot to learn about Christianity. Good luck with that.
