Hope you guys liked my earlier post and video clip of this USRA 0-6-0. For some unknown reason, that thread was locked? Anyway, here is one more pic of locomotive #1094 in action.

Gee Bob when I grow up I want to be as good as you are[:D]
Want to come to S.C. and CONSULT on this monster I am trying make sense of as far as scenery?
Still waiting for your book or DVD!!! I will buy it FOR SURE!!!
Bob, looking at your layout and using many high dollar craftsman kits, I see you’re a fine model builder, and your eye for detail is excellent. You managed to capture the look that you’ve aspired to create,(ala George Selios), but I can’t figure out why you manage to portay the 30’s or 40’s and use post WW2 boxcars. I think you should check out some Sunshine or Westerfield kits, or even some Accurails, and remove the PS-1 and other cars. Your ability to build kits should handle the difficulty of the resin kits I mentioned. Your layout is in a specific era, so maybe your freight cars should also reflect such. Just a passing thought, regards, Mike.
Hi Bob,
Great photo. Just like when I try to get a photo in the real world: a light pole or power pole or something like that gets pride of place in the photo. I reckon any model photo that runs to that degree of realism gets extra points.
A prototype question: Why does the loco have three domes along the top of the boiler? My guess is that two are for sand, one for steam. They put two sand domes on because its purpose in life is shunting, hence often runs in reverse and needs more sand than normal for the reverse direction. That is only a WAG. Put me straight if I am off the track.[B)]
BXCARMIKE:
Thanks for the feedback and tip. I guess I’m quilty of being a collector of trains than a train collector. Perhaps your right. I should re-focus and rid myself of all those cars not true to the era. But, like i’ve mentioned, whenever I see a car I like, I just have to add it to my collection. Is there help for someone like me? Do others in this forum have this problem? If so, how do you manage to have the disipline to stay true to your era?
Bob,
Don’t worry. It’s a disease we all suffer from. I try to use things that fit the period, but sometimes an anomaly creeps in. It is pretty much impossible to cure the disease. Besides that, to be cured is to have less fun so why get cured?
