A 2-8-0 Consolidation is turned on this “kit-bashed” Atlas turn table. The turntable was detailed by adding a gallows frame and real wood planking over the plastic deck. The Loco is a MDC (Roundhouse) kit.

Great picture once again!
But your ingenuity is even more remarkable at making an otherwise" not even close to realistic turntable" looking so authentic by simply “adding to it”.
What a unique idea!
I have one of these old Atlas turntables I was going to toss out, as I now have the new Walthers 130 foot turntable in Ho scale.
Now maybe it will find a new home with a new “face” on it.

Hello Bob,
Nice photo as usual. It looks to me like you have done some work over behind the turntable. Maybe just my bad memory, but I thought there were different buildings there. Do you do a lot of “urban renewal” (replacement of buildings). I suppose we all do to some extent. A building is not forever.
Bob, I had rejected the Atlas turn table because of it’s looks. You did an amazing transformation on it and it looks great. Makes me think maybe I should get one after all.
Bob -
Your work is all excellent, and I really enjoy the depth of detail in all your scenes.
But the thing that impresses me most is what you were able to do with that ugly little plastic turntable. You’re not an artist - you’re a miracle worker!
Bob , I just got the november MR , looking forward to reading your article
i don’t mean to be picky , but you’ve posted this picture before … i know because when i tried to save it my comp asked if i wanted to replace the original . so i looked and sure enough it’s the same photo . it’s still a great shot [:)]
