I went to Berea Ohio this month so far of April 2010 and saw 2 things, probably nobody in Berea Ohio has ever seen and the pictures below shows it. I’ll probably never see this again. The pictures are video captured from my video camera. Hope you enjoy them. Information is below the pictures.
A Weed Sprayer Westbound On The NS Main.
Same Weed Sprayer.
At first I thought I saw 1 light coming Westbound on the CSX Main, then:
I can’t believe what I’m seeing.
This is unbelieveable.
The CSX on the right track won. You know what is also cool, the CSX on the right track is an AC6000 #5016.
I think I’ll probably never see this here again in my life. But, I have to remember, Never Say Never. But hey, I caught it, didn’t I.
Maybe someone in Berea or in the state of Ohio has seen this happen, but I thought it would be cool to share it here. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing. I’ve never seen that - the 2 trains parallel and at about the same speed, as best as I can recall, and don’t really expect to, other than at a staged event. What are the odds of that happening, right where you’re at ? Maybe someone can compute those - has to be right up there with being struck by lightning. (Hope you bought a lottery ticket too that day. [swg] ) Against that, the weed sprayer - which would otherwise be notable - becomes insignificant. Was the sprayer there ahead of the freights ? But maybe that had something to do with them being set-up to run the 2 tracks at the same time ? If you got these pics with your video camera - Do you have a video with sound that you can post sometime, or - maybe instead sell it to one of the rail video outfits ? Don’t be bashful about that - where else are they going to get a shot like that

Here’s a link to the weed-spraying company - http://www.merciers.com/index.html I’m trying to decipher the motto or quote on the side - it looks something like “Crossing Over is Christ”; on another vehicle in their fleet appears to be “Look, Listen , and Live”. Anybody know or have a different or better interpretation ? - Paul North.
To me, the only thing more awesome than two trains pacing each other like that is one overtaking the other. That’s what I think I was seeing this morning on our line (trip report over in the Lounge). But that takes nothing away from your sequence of shots, Tom–they’re great, and you certainly were in the right place at the right time (Berea is the right place to be at any time!). Just be glad you were upwind of the weed sprayer (I hope). Every year we get warnings about that stuff when the spraying season starts. I’ve been seeing a truck from another company in our yard over the past week.
