Morning all and a big MERRY CHRISTMAS from S.W. Okla.
One year ago today (Dec.17, 2005) I did not have a model train or had even thought about model RR’ing. I got my first set, a Life Like, which I am not using any of it today, A few days after I got the train I found these forums and what I will call a lot of good friends, and that is where the fun all started. Some times I can be a real A**hole, but then again I have had a lot of practice LOL
I would like to also say Thank You All for answering all my questions, for that is the only way I have of learning, I certainly could not have done it without you all here at these forums
Again, Merry Christmas, and a heart-felt Thank You. I will leave you with a pic of my layout at dusk.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all your family Mike. You have certainly learned alot in a year. You must have a natural talent for railroading. I have to struggle to get the big picture. Looking great Mike. Dave
Maybe we should do a then and now to share progress.
Heres mine;
This is where I was about 1 1/2 years ago.
Here are some about a year ago. Most track laid.
Here is where I stand since August, some scenery, some track painted, runs good.
I still need to lay tracks in the yard but the main is operating with a few passing tracks and three track stagging under all that. This is N-scale with DCC and I have had too many trains running at one time, could have been fatal.
Mike, that’s is incredible progress for someone who’s only been on the hobby for a year. I’ve been doing this for 38 years and can’t build a town as nice as that. My trains run reliably and don’t derail, but my scenery just isn’t that good. Actually, I have NONE on my current layout so far.
