Many posters in the last few weeks have taken opportunity to make positive mention of one company or another, manufacturer, LHS, etc. I do not have a LHS, as many of you do not and must conduct business online or when I make a trip out of town. Someone on this forum recommended that I try First Hobby. I looked them up at www.firsthobby.com and made a purchase. I noticed how easy their site was to navigate right off, and then noticed their reasonable prices. You can find the same stuff cheaper on some auction sites, but I feel safer buying new from an established outfit. I made an order, it arrived in record time and I placed it on my test track. It ran perfectly, was not picky at all when making its rounds. I fell instantly in love with Athearn. Whats more is I began looking for a preorder NS executive F7 A/B set. I could not find them on first hobby’s site (they are not released yet). I e mailed them to ask if they might be getting them, and before I know it they have one ordered for me and all I had to do was yes and no them in an e mail. This level of customer service is unlike ANY online business I have ever dealt with. First Hobby has my business from now on… I highly recommend them.

Not all service is bad. I have had the very same kind of great service from dallasmodelworks.com but i’ve said that before.

true there are some good ones out there. first hobby happens to have been my first great experience, and it was good enough that they now have my business.

I have always enjoyed the customer service experience provided by Standard Hobby Supply.

The LHS’s in my area have not impressed me with either their customer service or pricing. I will likely shop online exclusively, from now on.

The place of choice for me is Online Trains (www.onlinetrains.com) as they are both my LHS and my online source if I cannot get into town. Great prices & great service!!!
