Hello,
I was browsing through the forums tonight (bought the new CTT and rented movies frm blockbuster), and come up with the idea of…
Online monthly CTT contests. Prizes to include trains, track, and transformer.
It is a good way to get people started.
For the grand prize, I recomend switching on and off with steam and desils each month. Anyway, a locomotive, 3 freight cars, three passenger cars, an oval of track and a switch with a siding, and a station and small freight platform. With a large transformer.(1 awarded)
First Prize
A small locomotive(steam or desil), with a string of freight cars or passenger cars with an oval of track and a medium transformer. (3 awarded)
Second Prize
A switcher locomtoive (steam or desil) 3 freight cars, an oval with a siding, and a basic transformer.(5 awarded)
Third Prize
A Large locomotive of the reciptiants choice.(5 awarded)
Fourth Prize
A medium sized locomotive ofthe reciptaints choice.(6 awarded)
Fifth Prize
A small locomtive of the reciptants choice.(7 awarded)
These are a great way to help those who are new to the hobby as well as those of us who want more trains. I really hope this will be taken into consideration.

I’ll bite, what is the contest [?]
Sounds neat & would definately draw in new hobbyists, but financially it doesn’t make sense. Giving away all that equipment once a month?- the cost would be tremendous!
Sound great, but a lot of $$$$ put out. Maybe the same thing on a less expensive scale. Maybe Lionel, MTH, K-line, or others could donate a engine, or car and that could be done. Of course it would be a business expense write off. [:)][:)][:)][:)]

Good idea, but you’re talking about a pretty big chunk of change there, and to do it every month would probably be way too much. To do it every month(12 months a year), I figure that it would cost well over $100,000. To do it every issue(9 months a year), I figure around $75,000. $100,000 could amount to two decently well paid people’s salaries, and $75,000 could easily amount to one well paid person’s salary. Which would you prefer, a well-done magazine with good layout, excellent photography, and well-written articles, or a poorly done magazine short staffed magazine that gives away free stuff every month?
I’ll take the former. A poorly done magazine doesn’t appeal to me, no matter what they give away.
Excellent points, Ben. [^] I would normally fund something like this, but last year the tree in the back yard that grew money up and died.[:(]
Whats do we have to do [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?] [?]
I can fund it. The government is making the tobacco companies [who have the big lobbiest] buy up our tobacco allotments. We’re going to be rich!!! [you believe that and I have some ocean front property in Arizona and a bridge in Brooklyn I’ll sell you]
