I must take this opertunity to praise som online retailers. So often we always get to hear the bad storys and never the good ones.
I bought some locos from Factory direct. They answered my questions perfectly and with great detail. They also shiped out the items within an hour or so both time I ordered. A service I have never before encountered in my life. I can recomend with highest remarks.
Cabbose hobbies were also very fast on there replys and they also shiped out fast with excellent service. Truly ace.
And last but not least. Walthers, great prices on the items I bought and great service. Fast reply and fast shipments. Wonderfull.
So to sum up. I would really like to take this opertunity to praise these dealers for there outstanding service and recomend them all to anyone.
Lillen(who is not acustomed to such service in his homeland)
Well first of all I checked witht hem if they had the stuff in stock and they did. They where very helpfull in answering my questions so I would recomend others to do the same if they really want an item right away.
I’m from Sweden, a small village called Östloning with about 50 souls. It’s about 40 km outside the city of Sundsvall.
I have had excellent service from the online retailers I have dealt with. They have what I want at a price I’m willing to pay and treat me as if I’m their only customer. Compared to some LHSs I,ve been to, online retailers have always answered my questions promptly and with interest ( for information I do NOT using the phone numbers reserved for orders only).
I too have had good results from Walthers; free shipping too, that is if you go to their retail store. Of course it helps if you live in the same city as their factory!
Isn’t that the truth, I always make sure what I want is in stock before I go to Walthers to get it at the show room. Scott we probably met up there and dont know it lol.
I can’t complain about any of the on-line folks I’ve used. In fact, I’d have to say that every one has offered exemplary service. A few are a bit slow, but so what? I can wait.
And Walthers? Well, if Walthers has it I’ll order it from my LHS. I get the sale price, and I don’t pay shipping. Also, I support my LHS. I have a number of P2K GP-9’s that had the leftover Life-Like “cracked-axle-problem.” Walthers sent me all new axles (wheelsets, actually) free of charge, even though I bought the engines elsewhere. I’d have to say that they are a true believer in the hobby, and I appreciate the effort they put out every day.
I probably wouldn’t go to directly to Walthers even if I lived in Milwaukee. As stated above, my LTS will order anything I want from Walthers and they don’t charge me shipping, and I get a discount on top of that.
I have ordered from Caboose, but it was a piece of brass that I couldn’t get from the LTS. Their shipping was indeed fast and the customer service was great. I usually go to Caboose about once or twice a month, but it is a bit of a drive to pay full retail (although I always hit the clearance shelf and find deals there).
I too have had good experiences from Caboose Hobbies and Walthers. They are generally my first two choices for online model railroad shopping unless it is DCC, then it’s Tony’s followed by Loy’s.
