Online Source For Structures?

I have the first 2 stages of track laid for my Great Northern Pacific layout, and need to start to add some basic structures. I need a 4-5 houses, church, station, apartment building, a few barns, fire station and a few stores. I think I want to go C1940-1960. Is there a concensus as to the best online store? I don’t know anything about the manufacturers, and my Forum search hasn’t given me what I need.

Thanks

First of all, what gauge are you running? Second, it all depends on how much detail you want on your structures and if you’re want a kit that is easy or difficult to construct. I personally look for the “cheapy” kits from Bachman, Model Power and such and kitba***hem to come up with an unique structure. DPM also has some great kits which are fairly easy to construct and have pretty descent detail. Check out the following links for some ideas:

Good Luck and [#welcome]

Thanks Steve. I’m modeling HO, and really like what I see from DPM at hobbylinc. DPM seems to have the right era, and level of detail for me.

check out city classics also, great buildings, good size and detail

also have a look at Valley Model Trains
discounted prices , good service . i’ve ordered from them

Have you looked at any of these?

Discount Trains Online at http://www.discounttrainsonline.com is well stocked and has good prices too. M.B. Klein (“model train stuff” in the previous post) sometimes has blowouts and sales on DPM kits - I’ve bought a few from them.

Pick out what you want from a Walthers catalog. Then, go to 1stPlace hobbies (online store). They have good prices, low shipping cost, and prompt service. I’ve used them many, many times. Never a problem. The best thing about their site is that you can search by the Walthers catalog number - very easy!

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. However, it is a bit overwhelming

There is always eBay… Lots of bargins, and unusual finds there. There is also a lot of crap out there so aware… Caveat Emptor…
