Only post what THEY want you to say

dont come up with ideas on your own

I cant talk here no more
I dont want to get deleted for tring to get people to think

You did have a nonsense thread that had nothing to do with Model Railroading…that is probably why it got deleted. If you take the time to read the rules of engaugement here on these forums, you can see why they tend to censor some threads.

If you keep it on topic and clean then you will never have a problem.

David B

Ken,

I think it got deleted because it mentioned politics. They probably did not want it to go too far. [:)]

Jim

Tinfoil hat production at an all time high I see?

WHAT ? ?

I simply had a freind that did things wrong

and archie bunker was a good enaligy

I was looking for stories of people that had done things there way, the wrong way.

and what you thought of there work

and how my person did not care. it was wrong and he liked to do it his way.

now if someone makes a comment in a thread, that you dont think belongs, you kill the whole thread. thats just so wrong

just seems like I live in some other country, no free speech here.

and archie always talked politics on tv! but i’m over it…

lets get back to the same ol story, from walthers or micro mark. thats ok you see some things are ok if it benefits certain people

Don’t feel picked on Budliner, this forum is no different from any other. I’ve had all kinds of posts deleted because someone felt ‘‘offended’’, I left the Bachmann forum permanently because of the constant deletion of perfectly acceptable topics and posts, and I’m not just talking about MY posts either. The pompous ***** and elitist snobs seem to be very thin skinned and have the idea that their way is the only way. They dislike a different idea or view and will rise up all mouthy and stupid at the slightest hint of dissention.

Don’t let it get to you, we are stuck with idiots and morons no matter where we go, it’s just a fact of life.

The internet is NOT a ‘Country’, it is a GLOBAL community. However, these forums are payed for by ModelRailroader and we have to abide by their rules.

If you dont like the topics that are discussed here like Walthers or Micromark, then you can feel free not to read those topics. There are OTHER forums where you can talk about politics.

David B

Ken,

Perhaps if you had made your OP preface clearer initially, others might have understood what question you were asking and where you were coming from. I was completely befuddle as to what you were trying to say. Sorry, now I have a better idea.

As far as free speech: You can speak as freely as you want…as along as it’s within the framework of the forum policy clearly outlined by Kalmbach. This is their forum and they provide it FREE for us to use and enjoy.

Bottom line: Sometimes you have to play by other people’s rules.

Tom

Seems to me with 2090 posts, you’ve had a fairly free range on this forum. “Free speech” has nothing to do on this PRIVATE forum operated by Kalmbach for the benefit of all model railroaders. If you want free speech where you can post and say anything, then start your own forum! “Freedom of the press belongs to those who own the presses”.

its funny that when people start to talk of there experiences, I find info and things to lookout for, I wish I was a stenographer and typying expert, but I’m not ,I do have a few ideas and like when others spin off them and to see were it goes Im good at a lot, but not all

you dont make the quarterback take out the water!

Ya know, it really amazes me how many folks have an absolute sense of entitlement. You post something on a free forum that may be objectionable, or at the very least is contrary to the published rules, then get upset when the owner of the forum deletes your post because of the content or rules violation. What’s the point? To just get yourself all steamed up because the forum owner did what the forum owner said they would do when you apparently think the rules shouldn’t apply to you? If you don’t LIKE the rules, why not just find or start a forum with rules you DO like?

Life’s too short to spin yourself up for no good reason…

Budliner, don’t feel bad about it…it happens everywhere, and not just online. I am a very good communicator by most conventions and standards, but sometimes I come up against a brick wall with some people, or in some groups, and I am at a loss as to how to get things smoothed over. Often, nothing will do it, and the result is a lot of ill feelings and hostility.

When we type words here, a whole bunch of different brains with different processing methods and powers are going to form an impression, not only of you, but of what your idea means. At least several readers will conclude that you are a dolt, some will think you are a genius, and others will not be able to peg you for anything. So, as fun or innocuous as your post was meant to be (as your brain processed it), some others saw something else and ran away with their own version of the “football” tucked firmly under their arms all the way down the yard lines…in the wrong direction that you had intended.

Sometimes, a play just doesn’t work out…know what I’m saying? I have had it happen to me.

Shrug, and try to have fun in other threads to come, Bud. [:)]

My first post here was an intro and an invite to help me with a school assignment I was working on…well, it got yanked and a nice E-mail came to me saying that they didn’t want that type of posting on the forum…I can understand their feelings, but it wasn’t offensive and was in good taste, spirit and was train related

In the end, I respected their decision as it is their forum and we are guests…next time I do anything like that, which will happen again in the course of my studies, I’ll PM everyone my intentions so as not to upset anyone.

Budliner-I have to ask this question and trust me, I’m NOT trying to be a smart alack here. Is English your primary language? Cause sometimes when you type, it’s REALLY hard to figure out what your trying to say.[%-)]

It took me many more words to suggest the same sentiment, Loathar, but I’ll defer to your way of asking…it is every bit as good.

So your saying the moderators at Trains.com are the same? I think there’s a standard to keep and it’s kept very well.

I don’t go looking for trouble it’s reported to the Mods/Admin by members of the forum and acted on from there.

Ken.

There’s a name for people who can’t think for themselves; I believe it’s “dittoheads”.

I must say, there seems to be a large amount of leeway in the forum rules. Frankly, I’m surprised at how long they let some of our threads continue. If they actually enforced all of the rules, I don’t think this forum would be quite as attractive. Sorry your thread was deleted. Just remember to say ‘trains’ a few times, then carry on with the random observations!

I started a post about a non train related item, my race car, and it got deleted. Bergie did his job since it was not a sibject that was worth the bandwidth that they pay for. It was a whim post and all I can say is oh well and go back to the fourm as it was designed to be used. I solved that problem with a Yahoo Group about Vintage Racing CAARA so all is well.

Rules are rules and if you break them you lose, no biggy at all.
