Only Ten Years Ago, But These Images Cannot be Repeated

Even though the two photographs here are only ten years ago, neither can be repeated today. First, a warbonnet SD75M and friends sits at the Neptune grade crossing, which is now inaccessbile behind razor wire topped chainlink fences.

Second, the First Watson Road Switcher sits on the tiny bit of the Redondo Branch that still exists west of the Harbor Sub. This area is now overgrown and thus sort of inaccessible.

Thanks for looking. Corrections are not only welcomed, but sought out. If I got it wrong, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Kind regards, Charles

Great finds Charles. What I’d give to be able to go through all those boxes of old pictures you’ve got. You really know your rail photography, I’m always looking for your latest posts. Your father would be very proud of you as I remember seeing some of his work that you posted in the past and absolutely enjoyed each one as well.

Ted - thanks so much for the kind words! You made my day. CF
