Oo scale classic trains

I recently recieved some Oo scale trains and I am trying to find out if they are old enough to be considered classic.

First is a LIMA Locomotive made in Italy. It has no other visual markings that I can find other than 13000

Next is a Hornby set made in Great Britain with one 10ton car with the number R009*020

Here is an example of your locomotive that sold recently on Ebay for 31 pounds:

I’m not an expert in this field, but looking at that Hornby set I would say it was from the early 80s. Do you have a box for it, as if you had the set no. you’d be able to find a lot more info on it.

Tom

I do not have the box and do not even know where to find the model number on the train. I took it apart and looked everywhere. I am not worried if the trains are worth alot of money or not. I just want to know if they are considered clasic or not. If they are clasic or soon to be than I will make a display case for them. I am considering making an HO layout once I am done with my N scale layout.

Model number of the locomotive seems to be L205119:

I found several pictures on the Internet of a Wrenn W2204 locomotive that appears identical to yours in the set, even to the cab number.

The Lima Loco appears in the Lima catalogue of 1981/2 not a classic but still collectable

Its a 2-6-0 Hughes “Crab” built at the Horwich works in Lancashire, England and is in the livery of the LMS London Midland and Scottish Rly Lima’s BR Mk1 Coaches were also a very realistic model.

For those with an interest in a better looking coach for there Hogwarts set Lima made O Gauge coaches complete with interiors which are more to scale size than the lionel offering. these are always appearing on Ebay.

Hope this is some use
