Today was the first day of the Reading Prototype Modelr’s Meet (virtually via Zoom, of course). Naturally there are items for sale fromt he RCT&HS Musesum Store. And there are some Atlas RS3s left. So I got the other road number (I have 445 with sound), 450, non sound. Trainworld is completely out, and there are noin cheaper on eBay, so it was a good deal. Plus, you can never have too many RS3s!

Congratulations on your new aquisition!
I still keep searching eBay for unususal items related to the Canadian Pacific Railroad, and every so often I get rewarded. I just bought three older drop bottom gondolas. I’m not sure who made them, but I love them. The drop doors all work perfectly. The assembly is a bit crude because whoever built them didn’t take the time to file off the casting flash. No big deal. They also came with one load which looks great and will be easy to duplicate.
Something else that interests me about eBay is the number of HO scale listings. Ten years ago there were less than 100,000. Now there are 360,070 listings and those are all from sellers who are willing to ship to Canada. I wonder how many listings there are for US buyers.

Good for you, Randy. I picked up a couple of brass wooden NYC cabooses from brasstrains.com recently because that’s the ONLY way to obtain an accurate one - i.e. other than the overpriced, mostly-accurate plastic NYC caboose from Trix. For me, you can never had enough cabooses. [:D]

That’s my justification. Remember in addition to the Atlas one I got a month ago, I have an Athearn, an MDC, a brass one, and 6 or 7 (I lost count) undec Atlas/Kato ones. Then there are the 3 sets of FAs…
I think I need one of those “Proud to be an Alco-hauiic” shirts. Or professional help. Probably both.

I don’t think I have any RS-3s. When I was in N scale, the RS-3 that came out in the 1990s was one of the best runners at the time, so I had a few of those.
I do have an RS-1.

Those are early MDC. You could get them in plastic later on but they were not ment to work like the metal ones. Have a bunch of the plastic ones myself.

Thanks for identifying them. I suspect that they are too early for my mid 50s era but I could care less. They are excellent examples of early cast models and I love them for that reason alone.
I just passed on an early Globe Models metal and wood CP box car. The price was right but the shipping cost was a killer. I just can’t justify paying $55.00 Cdn. for a single box car, no matter how nostalgic it might be.[|(] I couldn’t resist the allure! I just bought the darned thing!![banghead][swg][(-D][(-D][:D]

That is an interesting car. I don’t think I would go to that extreme to buy a desireable car, but if you can afford to spend the money and it will make you happy, then why not?!?
