[Terry, In lieu of MABruce’s point, I took the liberty of erasing the eBay link and posted the pic of your newest acquisition instead. Hope you don’t mind. Better safe than sorry. [:)] Tom]
Terry,
Yes, you did…and congratulations! [:)]
Tom
Nice!
How can you have 33 possitive transactions but have 0% possitive feed back score???[%-)] You should contact E-Bay about that.
Good Question
I think it’s because all 33 transactions were in 06
and not till just this month have i bought or sold anything
I wiil recieve 2 feedbacks in the next week
Just A friendly suggestion, but you might to reconsider advertising your eBay activity to everyone. It could cause some complications for you down the road.
Terry, you will need exceedingly exact, and eased, 22" curves for this beast. Even so, you will have to walk it through them. Expect derailments from time to time. 24" curves are fine if they are kink-free. The engine looks a whole lot better on curves upwards of 34". My counterpart, the J1 from the PRR, will pull 19 hoppers with the fake plastic coal top loads, plus a caboose, up my 3% grades with curves.
I think you will come to love this monster. I don’t know the specs for the T-1, but the J1 developed as much tractive effort, or within about 2000 lbs, of the UP’s Challenger. Pretty impressive.

Yes you’re probably right
Isn’t it a shame we have to be so careful
Terry,
See edited post at top.

Thanks Tom Good Move !!
This is my second T-1 The first is road number 3004
They are the best track testers i know of. If you have a kink they will find it.
But they have great sound !!!
And to me the best sounding whistle
Both these will be restricted to mainline duty as the coal mine branch has to tight of radius
for them
Which is not unlike the proto type
I use my H-5 for mine runs as did the C&O in the Thurmond Area
Terry–
That’s a beauty! And from what I’ve heard about that model, it’ll probably pull the walls right off of your layout room. Can’t wait to see some photos of her in action. [:P]
Tom [:)]
Thanks Tom
Now since I have 2
I have to figure out this consist thing
so i can double head them
Terry–
Got your E-mail which means you read my original post before I woke up and was able to get in and correct it. Dumb me, at first glance, I thought I was looking at a BERKSHIRE! Boy, howdy, am I embarrassed![:I]
However, if it makes you feel better, I took out my Allegheny, which I haven’t run for a couple of months, and put it at the head of a 25-car freight on my layout. Walked up my 2.2-2.4% grade on Yuba Pass like it wasn’t hauling anything more than its tender, LOL, and that’s WITHOUT traction tires! I’ll post some photos on WPF this weekend. I tell ya, if I weren’t so crazy about Rio Grande, I’d be modeling C&O in a flash. What GREAT steam that railroad had!
Tom [:P]
Actually the T-1 was designed from a Berkshire so your closer than you think !
Tom
I believe that the T-1 will out pull my H-8
I took the H-8 to Art’s layout and hooked up 24 cars and
assualted Cotton Hill 2.5 % and got some slight wheel slippage
but the T-1 doesn’t even slow down pulling the same 24 cars
Maybe the H-8 needs more break in
Terry–
If that BLI T-1 is anything like their PennsyJ-1a, you could probably double the number of cars on Cotton Hill and not have to worry. Though I don’t run my BLI’s that much–they’re not compatable with my other DC locos–the J-1 is an INCREDIBLE puller, and I imagine your T-1 is right up there with it. I’m not sure, but I think I read somewhere that the T-1 was practically just as powerful as the H-8, anyway, but was used on different divisions of the railroad. Either one is a gorgeous loco, IMO.
