oops: It doesn't fit ,but a very nice kit !

Well I did my normal ,what a great Idea THING. got the perfect place for a large industry like Valley cement ,and a nice kit indeed BUT its tall . My perfect spot is on the bottom level of a two level layout [:$]now I CAN cut or delete the smoke stack BUT the very detailed silo, “well the top of silo is very detailed” fits but you cant see the detailed top cause of the fascia from the top level blocks the view unless I bring it to the front where the details are going to get banged ,brushed, clipped and gone[B)]

sooo ,now I must rethink this spot. I do have room upstairs but man this was better for footprint ,HEY I made my living with a tape measure to boot,…Jerry

PS Its a very nice LARGE industry with lots of add on OPTIONS …[tup]

can you cut the silo shorter and still make it look right?

I’d just cut it off and let your imagination fill in the part of the silo above where you can’t see.

Then you can re-use the goodies on top for detail elsewhere.

I did this with a Rix grain elevator leg. I have a farm co-op facility on a siding on my lower deck. I used the bottom part of the leg there. The top part I recycled as a coal lift at a mine on the upper deck half a room away. They’re painted different and if you didn’t know they were separated at birth, you’d never guess. Used one kit to make two structures. [2c]

thanks guys: I just have it kind of set in place and well let it grow on me or move to another local, BUT its another lesson learned [;)] …Jerry PS Ive got books on this very issue with limited views on multi level layout just didn’t catch it here.

ADD/EDIT you know you got me thinken ,I still dont want to cut this very nice silo,BUT moving the silo to another area or industry AND scratch building NEW silos out a pvc in a halved or backwall arangement mite just be the ticket for this issue ,I have seen some sweet pvc /backwall silos here ,HuMMM
