Set-up the MTH Standard Gauge and the Disney World Monorail on the carpet central while the wife is visiting family for a few weeks. Need to put the monorail on some blocks to get it about 2 inches higher.

This reminds me of the problem that our city’s transit authority had a couple of years ago building a flyover for their light-rail line over the Union Pacific main line, to avoid delaying the passenger trains at the existing grade-level crossing. They discovered after the structure was in place that, while the elevated track cleared the main line just fine, it was too low for the adjacent interchange track. The fix was to cast concrete boxes on top of the bents, to raise the flyover track, and to dig a trench to lower the interchange track. Would your wife notice a little unobtrusive floor excavation?
Can’t see the pics as I’m at work and there blocked but the conversation reminds me of Don B making a n O gauge layout from the dinning room to the den I believe while the wife was gone a few years back.

I’ve seen some pre-fab plastic elevators on Ebay in the past, but a quick search today didn’t reveal any current listings. However I’m sure you could whip some up very easily using 2 by 2’s and the appropriate shade of paint. [swg]
