The HO scale Special Interest Group is actively looking for new members to help construct our new latyout. Basic membership is $55 per year.
All sections of RSME will accept membership applications. It’s been confirmed.
I will be manning the HO layout this weekend (inside the main building, downstairs), please stop by if you are interested in joining RSME.
First day of the Open House is over. The weather was great if a little humid, and we had the large diesel (Reading AS-16 #730) running on the 15" gauge railroad.
On our Lite Rail (1:8 and 1:12 scale) we had two 1:8 scale live steam locomotives running (0-6-0 and 4-8-4), one 1:8 scale diesel (GP7), and a 1:12 scale battery powered RS-3.
O gauge 2 rail ran a Reading G-3 pulling the Crusader coaches, a nice Bee Line scheme diesel (sorry out of my era[:$]) pulling a mixed freight, a Reading I-10sa pulling another freight, and a pair of Pennsy E8s pulling a passenger train.
O gauge 3 rail ran a nice assortment of MTH and Lionel trains including a reproduction UP M-10000, a mine motor and 4 mine carts, and a Pennsy E6 with a set of passenger cars.
O scale 3 foot gauge ran a EBT Mikado with a string of hopper cars. They recently completed their loop to loop continuous run.
Down at HO I had a 2-6-0 (roughly an F27sa) pulling a short local freight and a GG1 pulling a set of streamlined passenger cars. Both had sound, which the kids who came through really liked. Of course, running two trains 50 feet back and forth gets old quickly, but it was worth it to watch the kids. [:)]
P.S. I should have noted in the OP that the photo of the HO layout is about a month old.
