Opening a Proto 2000 SD7

I just bought a DCC ready Proto2000 SD7 for a steal at the Springfield show. I would like to install a decoder but have no idea how to open the shell. No documentation came with the locomotive. I notice some plastic latches from the shell that engage in slots in the frame. Do I have to pry these off somehow? Thanks

Remove the couplers and pockets and rock the shell from side to side to remove. Thats how mine come off.

Thanks! Removing the coupler pockets did the trick. I did not realize that they had to be removed.
