Opening brass vandy tenders

Any experten here that know of the best way to open a brass vanderbuilt tender. I have 11 brass GN steamer from several importers PFM,Westside , Oriental, that have this type of tender and I’m going to remotor them in preparation for changing them over to DCC and would like to be able to add sound modules as well.
but need to figure out a way into the tender, Have heard several people say that the curved end piece is removable if thats true, how do you get ahold of the little bugger! or are this parts sodder’d in.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated

Generally they are soldered together.

Take apart the model as completely as possible, making sure to remove any plastic or fiber (non-metallic material). Strip the paint, use an aggressive solvent system, non-acidic or basic, so as not to corrode the metal. Use appropriate safety precautions.

At this point, you should be able to see how the model was put together. Fire up your resistance soldering unit, and you should be able to disassemble.
