I want to open the long hood doors on my proto 2000 gp-18. I have done similar on other engines with a micro mark panel scriber but did not like how much material it took out. Is there another way to do this without making it look like a turd?
The only way I could gigure to accomplish this would be to thin the shell somewhat from behind w/ a dremel. Block with pine and scribe w/ a new #11 blade. Quite a bit of work and the renaining vertical sections of the hood will need to be braced. The other option is to locate dmore prototypical doors and thickness and just cut out the door and toss. Don’t know if Cannon makes these doors. Need to check. The second method would be much easier to do and look way better.
Checked Cannon wesite, would need to check if these doors are right for GP18 Search for hood doors
