I have started a O gauge layout using MTH switches. I have issues with the operation of the switches. 2 of them work great, 2 of them power up but will not operate and one switch shorts out all of them. I have followed the instructions per the manual, but I don’t know what the issue is. Any ideas on what is the cause?
Have you bench-tested them independent of one another? It’s entirely possible that one or more of the turnouts is defective.
Yes, I separated each switch from the track, and each switch operates independently as designed. (See attached picture) But when I connect everything together only 2 switches work.
Weird. I don’t have much experience with MTH turnouts, but hopefully someone around here can solve your issue.
Draw a schematic of the rails, and show the insulated gaps.
(I hesitated momentarily to start up another gap-fest thread, but no answer is likely possible without getting that information straight…)

Yes, I have. Each switch operates as designed. There has to be a short somewhere in the track, but I cannot find it.
