After a nasty bout with melanoma, I like to stay out of the sun.
Any weather!
A roof is a very useful thing[:-,]
Hey there,
Sunny is good. Evening I find is best. During the day it can be quite hot. Especially if there is no wind. Rain just does not work for me. But taking it indoors is certainly doable! Later eh…Brian.
Just about anything except under running water (it’d not too kind to soundboards and electronics), other than that run em when you can! I find I can’t take heat and cold as well as I could before the heart fart, so temperature extremes mean more to me than sunny or cloudy!
I avoid blazing sunshine, mainly as going out in it for any length of time makes me look like a lobster that’s been cooked for too long. Overcast but dry is better for setting up and operating a temporary system. Having said that, when I get around to building a permanent layout it’ll be operated in all weather - snow looks great fun in G scale!
cool , full moon, evening. gental breeze, How romatic. Just you and your trains, life can’t get any better than that. …Yes ,coming dearest!!! No I’m not on that computer ,again.
[:D]Carefull Marty, Or does carrie already know that the trains are the other women?[:p]
Any time is good for me, except rain!
I didn’t vote, as it’s hard…
We got blitzed today at 83 degrees.
Had to have 25-30 folks here, at least 15 trains running.
I ran out of locos for visitors to run!
I wuz dragging them outta storage!
Usually it’s poor show on hot, sunny days.
We have “called” it on 2-1/2 operating sessions due to weather, when you couldn’t see across the yard due to the rain.
We have never had any real issues with water.
Our electronics are protected and mounted to keep water away, run fine, rain or shine.
Snow is fun when I call for the plow crews.
I’ve been out by myself at 0300 keeping the main open
So, rain, snow, sleet, hail, monsoons, wind that is scary, branches flying out of trees, run through two 5.5 earthquakes, and then sunny weather.
Just like the real thing.

Any time, any weather. I try to avoid as much sun as possible, having had six melanoma removals. Large straw hat helps as well as some good SPF-50 or better. Good drainage helps keep the tracks above the waterline during rain so that is good too.
Hi,
almost every condition fits perfect, except rain.

Whoever posted this has no idea of other parts of the world; what about a nice cool day in winter, as it is too hot any other time. Or get into the pool and operate it with a remote control for the same reason. I just said anytime but that is not what i think, my type of habitat was overlooked.

Anytime you say Sunny here it usually means 90+ degrees and humid nowadays, not great weather to be outside, even under my garage roof. So overcast is nice, cool temps, nice to be out at the layout.
i think that any weather is good, but it is nice in a small snow fall.
