OL please come to deshler ohio.the locals were having a parade.they had the football team on the back of a trailer.csx was sending a train north.if it wasnt for a few people holding the gates up they would have smashed the semi rig pulling the trailer.whats worse is a city cop was asking people to help hold the gates up.the semis bumper was real close to the train.i was told some pics were going to be sent to operation lifesaver and another railfan site(I saw this from the railfan park south of the diamond.) maybe the festival organizers should be sent ol brocures.
yes I have emailed ohio OL.havent got a reply yet. thank goodness we didnt need the lifeflight chopper flying in a demo mode as part of the festivities.
Joe, we tried to take our passenger train down to a conference in Dayton for OLS and always on the ball CSX said “NO WAY”. We tried guess thats all we can do.
Actually, Joe, the trailer itself would have damaged the gate (probably broken it off), after the gate had wiped a bunch of those kids off onto the street. You already have my comments based on what was posted elsewhere.
